Tiger, tiger burning bright!
Like a fire in the night
This time I wanted to start off by adding rough swatches of color laying them in layers background first. That was the plan. But I went about it without rhym or reason. Adding and subtracting paint wherever I felt.

I wanted the to capture the tiger in its natural habitat - stalking its prey in the dense jungle.

As the foliage around the tiger started taking shape. I had an idea. I wanted to make a painting inside a painting. As if the wooden frame were a window into the jungle that was bursting out. And the tiger was emerging from the foliage mildly disdainful of its creator.

Turns out tigers look SOOO much like house cats. They're literally just bigger house cats. Lightning fast, and very strong and just beautiful. Having painted it, I can appreciate the orange coat and the unique intricate black stripes so much more.

And here is where I messed up. To cut corners and add some humor, I drew the visitors to the gallery as stick figures. The tiger appearing suddenly has scared them. I wanted to give the feeling of depth so I drew the figures on top of the painting hastily and ruined it.
But, it was fun ruining my painting 😁. The more precious the painting, the more I want to take bold steps and risk ruining it.

Because, I've learnt from Ajay that the canvas is infinitely editable. So I managed to salvage my tiger. I covered up the marker lines with new paint. Cut out the painting and pasted it on the concept drawn anew. This time the stick figures are much smaller and in various throes of hysteria and terror.
